ART 248 - Intaglio Printmaking 2

3 credit hours - Two hours of lecture and two hours of studio weekly; one term.
Build upon knowledge and skills acquired in ART 148 . Learn how to create different etchings including color, deep, lift ground and soft ground techniques. Develop personal forms of expression while exploring new printmaking methods. Lab fee $50.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to demonstrate:

a. The ability to work with the following methods of intaglio printmaking: color etching, sugar lift, deep etch, and soft-ground etching,

b. An ability to work with the materials and equipment used in intaglio printmaking in a safe, efficient, and knowledgeable manner,

c. An increased ability to troubleshoot problems in this form of printmaking,

d. An enhanced critical capacity for judging effective visual composition,

e. An enhanced ability to think visually.
