BPA 136 - Keyboarding1 credit hour - credit-by-examination Designed to assess keyboarding skills using keyboarding software and Microsoft Office or Google Docs. Focuses on proper formatting techniques to prepare documents such as agendas, memoranda, email, letters, and reports using tools such as tables, bulleted and numbered lists, fonts, columns, tabs, alignment, indents, and spelling and grammar check.
Course Outcomes:
- Demonstrate use of the alphanumeric keys on a 10-key pad by the touch system at a minimum speed of 30 wpm and 100% accuracy.
- Use word processing commands to perform the basic file management activities of creating, saving, deleting, printing, and closing documents.
- Prepare error-free documents, including memoranda, email, agendas, letters and reports.
- Use columns, tables, bulleted lists, number/dollar formatting, and varied fonts in a document.
