CTS 232 - CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Preparation1 credit hour - 15 hour lecture per term. Formerly CSI 259 - CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Preparation
Learn the theory and laboratory skills necessary to pass the CCNA exam. Prepare for simulator questions and strengthen test-taking skills. Review routing and switching fundamentals, TCP/IP and OSI models, routing protocols, STP, access lists, network security, WAN technologies and troubleshooting. Lab fee $25.
Prerequisite(s): CTS 231 or permission of CTS department chair.
Course Outcomes:
- Learn the theory and skills necessary to pass the CCNA certification exam by preparing for questions and strengthening test-taking skills.
- Prepare for simulator questions
- Review test taking tips and time management
- Review CCNA Topics on routing and switching fundamentals.
- Describe Network communications using layered models
- Explain VLANs and inter-switch communications
- Review IP addressing scheme and IP services such as NAT and DHCP
- Explain ACLs and routing protocols
- Review security, troubleshooting, and router and switch operation and configuration
