Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Describe learning theories, principles of child development, historical events and trends in Early Childhood education and apply this knowledge to classroom teaching.
2. Use systematic observations, documentations, and other effective assessment strategies in a responsible way to positively influence children’s learning and development.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of modern families and communities, which include culturally and linguistically diverse groups, to foster respectful, reciprocal relationships.
4. Demonstrate understanding of learning domains and developmentally appropriate practices and 1reflect on teaching practices to enhance children’s learning and development.
5. Identify characteristics of high-quality early childhood professionals who use ethical guidelines and NAEYC professional standards.
6. Translate fieldwork classroom observations into effective teaching practices.
