EDU 239 - Quality Family and School Partnerships1 credit hour - Three hours weekly; five weeks. Explore the framework of comprehensive school, family, and community partnerships. Examine strategies for communicating with families. Identify application for school and community agencies.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe each of the six types of involvement of Joyce Epstein’s Parent/Family Model
- Measure and analyze school, family and community partnerships in their local center, school or related setting.
- Examine and revise, if necessary, current mission and philosophy statements of their childcare center and/or school to include a commitment to parent/family involvement in all six standards.
- Develop an action team for successful home-school partnerships.
- Apply knowledge and research in each of the six types of involvement to the development of a comprehensive written action plan related to parent/family involvement.
