 Learn the legal and ethical responsibilities of the health care worker, including laws, regulations and industry standards. Explore the principles of moral, bioethical and health etiquette as they apply to current health care delivery, such as stem cell research, refusal of treatment, living wills and right to die issues.

 Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
 
	Discuss the foundations of Law and Ethics and applicability to health care providers
	
		Explain the applications of law and ethics in healthcare, such as: professional code of ethics, bioethics, and the role and purpose of ethics committeesDistinguish among law, ethics, bioethics, etiquette, and protocolDefine moral values, and explain how they relate to law, ethics and etiquette, such as: refusal of treatment, experimental treatments, emancipated minors, living wills and medical durable power of attorneyDescribe current legal issues for health care providers
