MUS 172 - Contemporary Guitar Techniques2 credit hours - One hour of lecture and two hours of studio weekly; one term. Introduces guitar performance skills necessary for industrial, studio and live performance. Styles covered include jazz, country, rockabilly, fusion and rock. Emphasizes the development of individual style and the essential techniques for the modern guitarist. Electric or acoustic guitar required.

1. Perform a riff in three or more different styles (jazz, rock, fusion, rockabilly, country).
