Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and discuss the basic principles of muscle structure and function.
- Identify and discuss the principles and methods of resistance training.
- Demonstrate the proper usage of various commercial fitness equipment and free weights utilizing appropriate exercise guidelines and spotting techniques.
- Design a resistance training program specifically for the individual.
- Identify and discuss essential nutrients, tools for healthy eating and guidelines for healthy body composition.
- Discuss methods for enhancing and maintaining motivation to exercise.
- Discuss how to integrate resistance training into a comprehensive fitness program.
