FRE 213 - Intermediate French Grammar Review and Composition3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. Reviews grammatical usage of French, including present, past, imperfect, past perfect and future verb tenses, prepositions, articles, negation, interrogation, comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs, personal subject and object pronouns. Training in guided composition is a significant component in the course.
Prerequisite(s): FRE 212 or four years of high school French or permission of the department chair.
Note: Not for native speakers.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain grammatical structures by comparing French to their first language.
- Apply correct grammar usage to present information, concepts, and ideas to inform, explain, persuade, and narrate on a variety of topics.
- Develop diverse perspectives of Francophone cultures.
