PRT 111 - Elementary Portuguese 13 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.
Introduction to basics of pronunciation and grammar necessary for reading, writing and conversing in Portuguese. This course is not designed for persons who have experience with the Portuguese language.
Note: Not for native speakers.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate correct usage of Modern Standard Portuguese (Brazilian and/or Continental) grammatical structures.
2. Use elementary vocabulary in the target language.
3. Demonstrate reading and writing skills.
4. Demonstrate oral skills.
5. Discuss aspects of Lusophone culture.
