CTS 270 - Information Security Management3 credits - Three hours lecture and directed laboratory weekly; one term. Formerly CSI 270 - Information Security Capstone
Learn the 10 domains of information systems security relevant to the CISSP professional certification. Undertake an in-depth review of all aspects of security as they relate to the following domains: Security Management Practices, Access Control Systems and Methodology, Security Architecture and Models, Physical Security, Telecommunications, Network and Internet Security, Cryptography, Business Continuity Planning, Law, Investigation and Ethics, and Applications and Systems Development Operations Security. Lab fee $25.
Prerequisite(s): CTS 140 .
Course Outcomes:
- Students are challenged to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Information Assurance through a study of the Ten Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) Security Domains.
- Describe important Security Management Practices.
- Explain Access Control Systems and their processes.
- Describe the various Security Architecture and Models.
- Explain various Physical Security mechanisms.
- Discuss Telecommunications security approaches.
- Explain Cryptograph applications for security.
- Explain the concepts of Business Continuity Planning.
- Identify security Laws, Forensic Investigation and security Ethics
- Discuss Applications and Systems Development security.
- Explain the concepts of Operations Security.
