GER 221 - Intermediate German Conversation3 credit hours - Three hours lecture weekly; one term. Develop interpersonal communication, presentational speaking, and interpretive listening skills in German at the intermediate level. Enhance listening skills, pronunciation, and intonation. Discuss current events and popular culture in German-speaking world. Taught in German.
Prerequisite(s): GER 212 or four years of high school German or permission of department chair.
Note: Not for native speakers.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Interact and negotiate meaning in conversations by sharing information, feelings, and opinions.
- Combine a variety of grammar structures and vocabulary to respond to written and oral prompts about a variety of topics.
- Present information, concepts, and ideas to inform, explain, persuade, and narrate a variety of topics.
- Develop enhanced cultural awareness by studying the products, practices, and perspectives of German-speaking cultures.
