MAT 044 - Precalculus Foundations4 equivalent hours - Four hours weekly; one term. Study and apply pre-algebra, beginning, and intermediate algebra topics such as operations on integers, fractions, and decimals; simplifying numerical and algebraic expressions with exponents, including rational exponents; writing and graphing linear equations in two variables; algebra of polynomial, rational, and radical expressions; factoring polynomials; solving linear and quadratic equations; solving linear inequalities; graphing linear and nonlinear functions.
Prerequisite(s): Appropriate score on AACC’s mathematics placement measures, or successful completion of an approved mathematics preparation course.
Note: A grade of at least C is required to enroll in MAT 045 .
