RUS 221 - Intermediate Russian Conversation3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. Develop spoken fluency in intermediate Russian by engaging in everyday speaking situations. Enhance listening skills, pronunciation, and intonation.
Prerequisite(s): RUS 212 or four years of high school Russian or permission of department chair.
Note: Not for native speakers. In some cases, heritage speakers of Russian may enroll with permission of department chair.
Course Outcomes:
- Use and pronounce Modern Standard Russian intermediate-level vocabulary correctly in conversation.
- Use Modern Standard Russian grammatical structures correctly at the intermediate level.
- Interpret Modern Standard Russian spoken at a normal speed and formulate an appropriate response.
- Discuss aspects of Russian culture abroad and in the U.S.
