PHE 266 - High Intensity Interval Training1 credit hour - Two hours weekly; one term. Develop cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, and muscular endurance using high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Demonstrate exercises using alternating bouts of brief higher intensity intervals with either rest or lower intensity workloads throughout an exercise routine. Lab fee $10.
Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Examine the dimensions of wellness related to behavior change goals.
2. Analyze pre-, mid-, and post-physical fitness assessments.
3. Demonstrate safe and effective participation in a high-intensity interval training exercise program.
4. Demonstrate evidence of improvements in the five components of fitness.
