CTS 243 - Cloud Operations3 credit hours - Two hours lecture and two hours lab weekly; one term Learn entry-level DevOps, support, and cloud operations roles. Emphasize best practices in Cloud operations and recommended design patterns. Learn how to solve problems and troubleshoot various scenarios, automate and create repeatable deployments of networks and systems, cover specific features and tools related to configuration and deployment. Build a variety of infrastructures via guided, hands-on activities in Amazon Web Services.
Prerequisite(s): CTS 237 with a grade of C or better or permission of the academic chair.
Note: The course also addresses the core material of the AWS SysOps Administrator - Associate exam.
Course Outcomes:
- Understand a Cloud infrastructure as it relates to system operations, such as global infrastructure, core services, and account security.
- Use the Command Line Interface, and understand additional administration and development tools.
- Manage, secure, and scale compute instances, configurations, and databases.
- Identify container services that are available for serverless computing.
- Build virtual private cloud networks.
