Financial Aid: This program has not been approved by the U.S. Department of Education for eligibility for federal student aid. Certificate Graduation Requirements

To graduate with a certificate, students must have demonstrated eligibility for ENG 101  or ENG 101A . Refer to Academic Regulations on Graduation Requirements .

Certificate Requirements: 31-32 credits

• ART 100 - Two-Dimensional Design 3 credit hours
• ART 106 - Introduction to Digital Design 3 credit hours

• OR

• ART 264 - Fundamentals of Typography 3 credit hours
• ART 268 - User Experience Design for the Web 3 credit hours

• ART 269 - Responsive Web Design 3 credit hours

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Web and Interactive Design Certificate, students will be able to:

1. Apply the principles and elements of design to communicate information on the web in a visually compelling, user-centered manner.

2. Write standards-compliant HTML and CSS that is semantically correct.

3. Apply the appropriate file formats, resolutions, and export parameters when creating images for the web.

4. Effectively research and communicate the business goals and user needs of a web site via industry-standard user experience documents.

5. Design and code web pages that are effective on multiple screen sizes and unique user contexts.

6. Present concepts to clients clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form.

7. Apply JavaScript elegantly and efficiently to enhance the user experience.
