About the Music Transfer program
Purpose: For students interested in pursuing professional training in performance, music education, composition, music technology, transferring to a four-year institution or gaining personal enrichment by concentrating in music.
A grade of C or better is required in all MUS courses to complete the program.

Transfer Considerations
Students should meet with their academic advisor or the academic chair of performing arts before selecting applied music courses. While the program can be completed by taking three or four credits of applied music depending on the selected track, it is strongly recommended that students complete six or eight credits to help with transfer to a four year institution. Wellness Requirement
All students in associate degree programs must satisfy the wellness requirement. In many cases, students may satisfy this requirement simultaneously as they satisfy a general education course requirement or with an elective. Program Outcomes
Upon Successful completion of this program, students will be able to: - Understand the principles of sound and acoustics, identify the necessary technology components for a recording session, successful use of software and hardware for audio recording and editing, apply microphone placement and technique, and understand signal flow and basic mixing concepts.
- Apply advanced techniques and practices used in the recording industry, use advanced signal processing tools to manipulate audio, understand advanced mixing techniques, apply mastering techniques, and identify and troubleshoot common recording problems.
- Accurately and authentically perform or create a musical composition using the skills acquired from Ensemble and Applied Music courses.
- Analyze and create a musical composition using various analytical and composition techniques acquired from Music Theory & Ear Training and Music History courses.
