PRT 112 - Elementary Portuguese 2

3 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term.
This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.

Continuation of PRT 111 with emphasis on speaking, reading and writing.

Prerequisite(s): PRT 111 or one year of high school Portuguese or permission of department chair.

Course Outcomes:

Demonstrate correct usage of Modern Standard Portuguese (Brazilian and/or Continental) grammatical structures.

Use elementary vocabulary in the target language.

Demonstrate reading and writing skills.
- Read short, informative paragraphs with cognates.
- Write paragraphs describing everyday activities.

Discuss aspects of Lusophoneculture.
- List Portuguese-speaking countries and their capitals.
