PRT 211 - Intermediate Portuguese 13 credit hours - Three hours weekly; one term. This course meets the Arts & Humanities General Education Requirement.
Build vocabulary and grammar skills for the purpose of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Discuss the culture and civilization of Brazil, Portugal, and Lusophone Africa and Asia.
Prerequisite(s): PRT 112 or PRT 119 or two years of high school Portuguese or permission of department chair.
Note: Not for native speakers.
Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Use Modern Standard Portuguese (Brazilian and/or Continental) grammatical structures correctly.
2. Use intermediate vocabulary in the target language.
3. Read and write in Modern Standard Portuguese (Brazilian and/or Continental) at an intermediate level.
4. Speak Modern Standard Portuguese (Brazilian and/or Continental) at an intermediate level.
5. Discuss aspects of Lusophone culture.
