ELL 319 - Capstone Grammar and Editing2 equivalent hours - One Term This continuing education course is designed for capstone level non-native speakers of English and provides instruction on achieving proficiency in using grammar and vocabulary accurately in academic writing.
Topics include review and practice of all verb tenses, conditionals, and the passive, with a focus on editing and developing vocabulary related to formal academic writing.
Prerequisite(s): ELL 316 or Accuplacer LOEP testing placement.

Course Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate competency in expressing ideas in the past, present and future using appropriate verb tenses.
2. Demonstrate proficiency in using passive verb tenses.
3. Use gerunds, infinitives, and conditionals properly.
4. Utilize adjective, noun, and adverbial clauses accurately in complex sentences.
5. Employ more highly developed vocabulary and editing skills to improve language accuracy.
