DAN 232 - Intermediate Jazz Dance 2

2 credit hours - One hour of lecture and two hours of studio weekly; one term.
Continue exploration and development of jazz technique with emphasis on execution of a variety of jazz dance styles. May be repeated once for a total of four credit hours.

Prerequisite(s): DAN 211  or DAN 221  or DAN 231  or permission of department chair.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Expand personal expression and movement vocabulary.
  2. Implement safe anatomical alignment within the Jazz technique.
  3. Provide an accurate understanding understanding of the core.
  4. Increase, flexibility, balance, endurance, and coordination.
  5. Choreograph a Jazz solo that demonstrates an understanding of Jazz techniques, musicality, and spatial awareness.
