EMT 202 - EMT-Intermediate to Paramedic Bridge 29 credit hours - Emphasizes critical thinking skills in patient assessment and the use of medications in the treatment of those who are acutely ill or injured. Pre pares the EMT-Intermediate for the role of team leader and patient advocate.
Prerequisite(s): EMT-Intermediate certification and BIO 230 or BIO 232 or BIO 234 .
Corequisite(s): EMT 200 and EMT 201
Course Outcomes:
- Formulate and implement a treatment plan for a patient experiencing cardiovascular emergencies based on assessment findings
- Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
- Formulate and implement a treatment plan for a patient experiencing respiratory, neurological, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and endocrine emergencies
- Identify electrocardiographic rhythms that require 12 lead interpretation, pacing, defibrillation, and synchronized cardioversion.
