CTP 210 - Statistical Programming Using R4 credit hours - Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory weekly; one term. Install and configure the statistical programming environment. Read data into R, access R packages, write and use R functions, and organize and comment R code. Apply statistical computing in the R programming language.
Prerequisite(s): CTP 160 and either MAT 135 , MAT 223 , MAT 235, or ECO 232 ; or permission of Computer Science Academic Chair.
Course Outcomes:
- Obtain and evaluate input including file I/O
- Describe and use data types and subset R objects
- Analyze and solve problems using control structures
- Define and use functions on scoping rules, dates and times, R loop, and debugging
- Simulate random number and linear model, and use R profiler
- Describe the basic ways of collecting and sharing data, and basic exploratory techniques for summarizing data
- Obtain hands-on experience through R programing
