About the Cinematic Arts Program
Purpose: For students interested in pursuing professional training, transferring to a four-year institution or gaining personal enrichment by concentrating in film study and the production of the moving image.

The Program Requirements for this degree are simultaneously satisfied by three of General Education Requirements listed below: (1) the Communications Arts and Humanities general education requirement, (2) the Sophomore Literature Arts and Humanities general education requirement, and (3) one of the History Social and Behavioral Sciences general education requirement courses (HIS 111 or HIS 112 or HIS 113 or HIS 114 or HIS 211 or HIS 212 or HIS 214 ). English Composition: 6 credits
Arts and Humanities: 6 credits
Social and Behavioral Sciences: 6 credits
Additional General Education Requirements: 3 credits
Area of Concentration 29 credits

Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: - Explain the value of tradition, innovation, and creativity in understanding and participating in expression through film.
- Produce and refine audio and visual components of timed media through the use of current production technology.
- Analyze the form and content of timed media and express it in writing.
- Discuss the aesthetic and cultural history of timed media.
